The Simple Things

Dress c/o Shein | Shoes: Steve Madden | Bag: Michael Kors

It's important to appreciate the simple things in life every now and then, and the same can definitely be said for clothing. I recently got my hands on this ultra cozy shirt dress from SheIn and I absolutely love it. The material is thick and soft and it ends at that perfect mid-thigh length that I tend to look for in most of my skirts and dresses. It's also incredibly versatile - I chose to flaunt its simplicity for this look in particular but I could also easily throw on a faux fur coat, black tights and ankle booties for a more winter glam vibe. I also love the shape of this dress. Most shirt dresses I've worn have been pretty lifeless when it comes to their shape and sort of just hang off of you like nothing special. This dress, however, has a subtle fit and flare silhouette that makes it very casually cute! Expect to see it featured on here more often because as I said earlier, it's very versatile and I'm a tad bit obsessed. Did I mention it's only $10?

On a bit of a side note, how is it already December? Crazy how fast the time has flown by. Nevertheless, I am so freaking ready for the holiday season to start and for all my coffee drinks to have cinnamon in them and for Christmas lights to be everywhere and for sweater tights and scarves to be in all of my outfits and just all that cozy seasonal goodness~*~ Austin and I recently put up our little Christmas tree and thankfully our puppy Lola hasn't managed to completely destroy it just yet. I mean, she did try to make off with a few ornaments at first but so far, so good overall! We know for a fact though that we can't leave any presents under the tree until we actually open them, especially her presents that will most likely consist of dog biscuits and chew toys. Even though she's only 5 months old, her sniffers are super active and ready to pick up virtually anything that seems interesting to her. Also, puppy logic is literally "Hmm, this is new and different and I am curious. Let me eat it!" and we have to be incredibly careful in general of what is laid out lol. I'm super excited to celebrate the holidays with her though and am ready to give her the best first Christmas ever. Here's to the first of many!
