All of The Blush

Sweater: Make Me Chic | Skirt: American Apparel | Bag: ASOS | Puff keychain: Target | Boots: Target | Socks: Tutuanna (Similar)

Blush sweaters are everything. Not only do they come in the chicest shade to be trending at the moment, but they've also obviously got all of the great and cozy characteristics that come with donning a nice sweater. Cute and cozy all at the same time? Count me in. This piece is from Make Me Chic and it also comes with a chic choker detail that gives your look an extra dash of style. It's currently going for only $20 so if you like what you see, feel free to get it for yourself here! Usually, I like to pair blush sweaters with light wash denim pieces but I decided to create a bigger contrast this time with a black skirt. My button front circle skirt from American Apparel ended up being the perfect piece for the job.

Another fantastic winter combo? Ankle boots and layering socks. I bought these black boots from Target on a complete whim a few weeks ago because I had come back home to Santa Cruz completely unprepared for the freezing weather they had been having. As much as I love my trademark nude ankle strap heel, they just wouldn't do for the cold my poor feet had to endure. To give boots a bit of a fun edge (and to also keep your feet warmer) throw on a pair of layering socks and have them come up just slightly above where the top of your boots are. A little trick I did for this look was take ankle length socks and fold them over the top part of my boots so that they have a layered effect and don't go up too high on my ankles. The final result basically looks like you're wearing boot cuffs, but you also get to retain the warm and cozy benefits of actual socks. This is a trick that I learned from my recent trip to Japan and I got these socks from my favorite shopping mall over there - Shibuya 109 in Tokyo! Socks are very popular in Japan and I'm always amazed at how cute, fun and creative they are whenever I head over there.  This pair in particular is from the brand Tutuanna and I love the thick, knit material that they're made out of. They're very versatile and perfect for rocking as cute winter wear or simply wearing at home with tea and Netflix.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season!
