Dress c/o SheIn | Heels: Steve Madden

Here is the second photoshoot I shot with Melissa back in Santa Cruz last week. We did this one on the wharf and managed to get it done right as the golden hour light was hitting perfectly. I'm not sure what it is about SC that makes its golden hour especially stunning (probably the fact that there is significantly less smog than LA, lol) but I've always loved how it looks there, even as a kid growing up, and am so glad that we were able to perfectly capture it here on the wharf. We also tried getting a bit of the Boardwalk in the background, which you can see in a few of the horizontal shots. Just like with the last photoshoot, I absolutely love how the photos turned out here! Melissa was able to work her magic yet again, and I had such a fun time during all of it. Hopefully we can get a few more done next time I'm back in town. Again, make sure to check out more of her stunning work here!

I'm absolutely in love with this striped, bow-tie sundress. I've been meaning to get a dress in this style for a while now, so I couldn't have been any more pleased to find this stunner on SheIn's site. It sort of reminds me of a Reformation dress, but for a fraction of the price - double win right there. I rarely ever wear stripes, but the nautical ones featured on this piece were very summer appropriate and too cute to pass up. It also has pockets! And every girl out there knows that excitement you feel when you discover that a dress also happens to come equipped with some handy pockets. Functional fashion at its finest.
