February Air

When you're both a full-time student and a blogger, you constantly find yourself searching for the best way to manage these demanding schedules. Every now and then, it involves bringing them together! I took this shoot literally right after getting out of my legal communication class, strategically hiding my not-as-fashionable notebook out of these shots. Thankfully, my campus is picturesque to begin with and perfect for doing a shoot, making it easy to get these pictures done right as the sun went down.

As you can tell, we experimented a bit with golden hour lighting. I personally think the glare in some of these shots looks really neat, but I definitely made sure to feature some without it so that you can actually get a good view of the outfit itself haha.

This lace-up dress is incredibly breezy and comfortable, making it perfect for the warm weather we've been experiencing again. It's from my favorite boutique in San Diego, Mimi & Red, and I actually got it on a visit down to SD last month. I think every time I visit there from now on, I'm going to make sure to give Mimi & Red a visit and leave with something cute. I wanted this piece to stand out on its own, so I kept everything else simple. Minimal gold jewelry, nude ankle strap heels and a matching black Michael Kors satchel completed the outfit in a chic and sleek manner.

And yes, to all my fellow Lights fans out there, the title of this post is indeed a reference to one of her first hits February Air. I love Lights, and am still waiting on the day that she comes back to LA so I can finally see her live. I've been a fan of her's for a good 10 years now and I still can't believe I haven't seen her in concert yet! I'm sure once I do, there will be plenty of happy tears shed. One day...

xo,
Sydney
