Back From the Desert

Here is another music festival inspired look that I put together. Lace up, bell sleeves, denim shorts and a wide brim hat are a perfect combination for the event, and they can certainly be rocked at non-festival events as well. I actually just got back from Life is Beautiful yesterday morning and it was an absolutely incredible experience. I'll be putting up a full recap post for you guys in the next few days, but for now let me just say that the venue itself and the performers were fantastic. The festival was set in a closed off area of downtown Vegas (this was my second time going to Vegas in just this month alone), and some of my favorite shows included Best Coast, Madeon, The Killers, Metric, Glass Animals, and Major Lazer. It all seemed to have gone by in a flash, but here's to hoping that a Life is Beautiful 2016 trip happens!

Cardigan Season

New obsession, guys: Maxi cardigans. I've known about these pieces for a while now but it wasn't until recently that I actually decided to throw one into my wardrobe. Needless to say, I'm very pleased I did! They seem to add instant drama to just about out any outfit you pair it with, and they're also surprisingly lightweight. This is especially perfect to wear here in LA, as our
"fall" still primarily consists of sunny skies and 80+ degree temperatures.

Speaking of which, hope everyone is having a lovely start to the new season!

Festival Chic

Hey everyone! So sorry for my lack of posting this past week! My schedule has been crazy busy as of lately and its been a bit hard getting on the computer to post up outfit pictures. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I have been traveling a lot and have also been in the process of moving into a brand new apartment. Oh, and it was my 21st birthday a few days ago! Pretty exciting. So yeah, a lot has been going on but I think I have finally got myself caught up with everything. I'll actually be going back to Vegas next week for Life is Beautiful so I'll make sure to have a lot of festival fashion looks for you guys around then! Do you guys like my newly lightened hair? I figured that turning 21 called for an update in my look, so I went and changed up my hair a bit. I personally love the lighter look and plan on keeping it this way for a while!

I decided to get a bit of an early start with the festival fashion by rocking this gorgeous, boho shift dress. I don't wear prints too often, but the look of this piece caught my eye immediately. I'm also obsessed with the large bell sleeves, as well as the white lace lining on them! When I wear a print such as this, I like to keep everything else on the simpler side. Now I definitely wouldn't wear these specific heels to a music festival but since I was just out in LA for this look, I slipped on my favorite nude ankle strap heels to polish things off. A rich, tan handbag from Michael Kors paired fabulously with the dress and a nude, wide brim hat complemented the look's boho flare. Overall, this is a sleek and chic take on music festival fashion. Its a bit fancier than something you would typically wear in the desert, but the inspiration is definitely still there. :) Expect more festival inspired looks soon!

Back to Basics

Basic meets bold in this edgy twist on a plain shirt and jeans combo. A fitted crop top from Topshop and a killer pair of ripped denim from PacSun ultimately did the trick here, complemented with my favorite pair of nude ankle strap heels and faux-snakeskin shoulder bag. The ripped denim was pretty bold on its own, so I balanced it out with relatively simple garments everywhere else. The final result is cool, semi-casual and balanced - perfect for coffee out with a friend or an afternoon spent shopping.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Labor Day weekend!

Lace-up Love

Yup, gotta feature this killer bodysuit on here once again. It's probably pretty obvious at this point, but lace-up pieces are some of my absolute favorite garments at the moment. It's a trend that is thriving in both retail and on the runway, and I seriously can't get enough of it! So with that said, expect to see this trend continue for a while on my blog. I went a bit more feminine for this look by rocking one of my favorite circle skirts from American Apparel. Paired with some staple nude accessories, the look as a whole is chic and simple with an edgy flare.
