Cold Shoulder

While I was in San Diego, I stopped by a lovely boutique called Mimi & Red. And let me just say guys, it was amazing. You know those times where you walk into a store and it's literally love at first sight? Yeah, that's what happened here. While my desire to buy everything in the boutique sadly wasn't able to happen, I did leave with this super chic open shoulder top as well as these killer sunglasses. I've been seeing this open shoulder top trend embraced quite a lot this past year, so it was definitely fun trying it out for the first time. Turns out, I like it! It's super soft and is one of those pieces that works well both casually and dressed up. Its also got bell sleeves, which as we all know is a style I'm lowkey obsessed with. So basically, it's perfect and it conveniently matches with my newly acquired sunglasses as well. Sigh.....can I just move to San Diego already?

Summer Days

A breezy, white blouse is the perfect piece for summer. The one I'm wearing here is from PacSun, and I love its lace detail, airy texture and light bell sleeves. To complete this look and maintain its summer vibe, I paired it with light wash denim, some killer nude ankle booties, and (of course) a wide brim hat. I'm sure you guys have noticed by now that I've really been enjoying playing up denim garments. Pairing them with more formal pieces, such as ankle booties or a pretty blouse, creates a chic balance that I think reflects my California style quite nicely. As I've mentioned in previous posts, airy whites and light wash denim are a match made in summer heaven. I've got a few more looks in mind that rock that same combination, so stay tuned!

San Diego Zoo

My boyfriend and I took a trip down to San Diego over the weekend and obviously had to stop by the zoo while we were there. Its literally been years since I was last at the San Diego Zoo so it was an absolute blast being able to visit the area once again! Not much had changed, and the zoo was still just as wonderful as I remembered it being. My boyfriend -who is also the one who takes all of the outfit pictures you see on here- took some incredible photos of the animals and I just had to share them on here for everybody to see. Hope you guys like them just as much as I do!

Denim Splash

Lace up detail and button front denim? Count me in. I was pretty excited finding both of these pieces on their own and was even more pleased when I realized they paired perfectly together. After all, Nasty Gal and American Apparel rarely disappoint. Few of my outfits are complete without my trademark wide brim hat and that is exactly what I did here, throwing one in to complement the boho theme of this look. I also strapped on my favorite nude heels to polish up the outfit and give myself a much-needed boost of height. All together, this outfit rocks a boho/ seventies flare with some chic touches here and there. You know, the usual uniform for me.

Avalon

This bodysuit is like nothing I've owned before. It's the Avalon bodysuit from Reformation and I've got to say guys, I'm seriously so obsessed. I mean, I'm sure you can already tell by the millions of photos I've featured in this post of it, but I figured I would let you know right off the bat anyway. I'm all for the lace-up trend thats been everywhere this season and this piece seriously takes it to the next level. It's edgy, it fits like a glove and it instantly spices up anything that it's paired with. Whether it's denim jeans or a girly circle skirt, it works with almost anything. This piece is also very high in demand, so the second I saw that it was available in my size, I got it ASAP. I would definitely recommend putting your email on their waitlist if it's currently unavailable in your preferred size. That's exactly what I did, and was able to get it with no hassle once I got an email back saying it was in stock.

Sorry these photos are a bit all over the place! I couldn't really decide on one location to shoot this outfit, so we just went up and down Main Street in Santa Monica/ Venice snapping shots in whatever spots looked nice and photogenic. Regardless, I think they've all come together quite nicely! Bit of a side note, but if you are ever in this area I would highly recommend going to Komodo in Venice. We went and got dinner there prior to taking these photos and it was amazing. Asian fusion tacos may sound a bit odd at first, but they definitely make it work. Only in Los Angeles. ;)
