Little Striped Dress

Chic yet simple. My mom and I found this stunner at Zara the other day for a whopping $13 and it was definitely too great of an opportunity to pass up. I've been meaning to get myself a little striped dress for a while now, so I'm stoked that one has finally made its way into my wardrobe. This piece is really versatile, as it can be played up or down depending on the occasion. To make it more evening appropriate, throw on a sleek pair of heels, a black leather jacket, and a swipe of your favorite bold lipstick. To keep things more casual in the daytime, tie a denim jacket around the waist and rock a cute pair of flats. For this specific look, I decided to keep things on the simpler side as I wanted the dress to be the main highlight. I glammed up the look however with my new Public Desire lace up heels, and polished it all off with my black Express shoulder bag and gold bangles.

Summer Heat

Button-front denim skirts are insanely popular right now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am all for the '70s trend currently dominating the fashion world. I got this one from American Apparel and I'm definitely planning on wearing it all summer long. It pairs quite nicely with a number of items in my wardrobe, but for this look in particular I wanted to go for more of a summer feel. Thus, I went with one of my favorite off-the-shoulder white lace tops. I'm also obsessed with these new lace up boots I got from Public Desire! Remember when I said earlier that I was hoping to get a pair of lace up heels in nude? Well here they are! Definitely expect them to be featured quite often on here. The brand in general has a huge array of fabulous heels so I would highly recommend checking them out.

Sweet Seventies

I'm usually not one to care too much for trends, but I've gotta say that I am all for the current love towards the seventies.  Ever since I saw ChloĆ©'s S/S 2015 collection, I've been pretty obsessed. I've already made clear my love for bell sleeves, but other details like denim, lace up detail, rich tan leathers, suede, and so on are also some of my current favorites. I decided to whip out this flowy H&M blouse once again, this time pairing it with my tan American Apparel circle skirt and a sleek pair of nude heels. Gold bangles from The Limited added some luxe detail to the ensemble, and my thrifted clutch from Crossroads paired nicely with my matching toned skirt. Overall, I would say this look is a feminine take on the trend. My last outfit featuring this blouse was a bit more on the casual side, so it was fun playing it up again and channeling a more flirty look with it. Expect to see a lot more seventies-inspired outfits on here in the coming weeks!

White Stripes

Every girl should have a killer faux leather skirt in their wardrobe. It can make an outfit look edgier in an instant, especially when details like zippers and draping are involved. I found this stunner at an H&M in England last summer, and I've been pretty obsessed with it ever since. I aimed to make this look a bit more daytime appropriate by throwing on a casual Brandy Melville striped tank, but switch it out for a chic blouse and you've instantly got a getup fabulous for the evening as well.

California Cool

Erin Wasson’s collection for PacSun is the epitome of California cool. And while I personally adore everything in the collection, this romper here would probably have to be my favorite piece. It's chic, breezy, lightly patterned, and makes for the perfect summer staple. I also love these heels that I got from Chinese Laundry a few months ago! I'm actually pretty surprised that I haven't featured these bad boys on here until now, but hey, better late than never. The lace-up trend for shoes has definitely been on the rise as of lately, and while I love gladiators, I don't think I necessarily pull them off too well. Thus, lace up ankle booties are my next bet. I'm really hoping to get a pair of these heels in nude, so here's to hoping I get my hands on some soon!

Pretty in Prints

The first time I saw the print of this crepe crossback midi dress from American Apparel, it was love at first sight. And with the chic back-less design as well? I just knew I had to have it. Since the print is on the bolder side, I kept the rest of my accessories neutral with my black Brandy Melville hat, nude Jessica Simpson slip on heels, and black  faux snakeskin Express shoulder bag (which I am like, ridiculously in love with.) I wore this same look out to dinner with some friends a few weeks ago and had a pretty fabulous time. It's quite the versatile piece, seeing as it worked for both my dinner that evening and as an earlier daytime look.

On an unrelated note, Jurassic World is an absolutely amazing movie. I just saw it tonight with my boyfriend and I seriously haven't been as blown away with a movie in a while as I was with this one. It had me laughing, getting emotional at some points, and on the edge of my seat the entire time. I would highly recommend it!

Rompin' Around

I was serious when I said I'm all about bell sleeves. Let me present to you guys Exhibit B: this fabulous romper I got at Abercrombie & Fitch a few weeks ago (probably the first time I've gone in there since seventh grade. The smell instantly brought me back.) This piece is literally filled with details that I'm personally obsessed with. The bell sleeves are an obvious starter, but I also absolutely adore its flirty pink & white floral print (one of my favorite color combos when it comes to floral) and its off the shoulder detail. I also think this romper could transition from a day to night look quite easily. Simply ditch the hat and swipe on a bold lipstick and you're good to go. Get this romper for yourself here!

Bell Sleeves

The boho craze that has been dominating the fashion world (runway and retail alike) as of recently has brought about a great amount of trends. Whether it be flared denim, wide brim hats, or suede it’s apparent that boho has no intention of leaving anytime soon. Amongst these trends, one of my favorites would have to be bell sleeves! Bell sleeved tops do a fantastic job at adding a breezy, free-spirited flare to any outfit. I’ve kind of gone on a bit of a craze recently collecting garments that possess this feature but what can I say? I love how they look! One of these pieces is this H&M top that I’m wearing here. Along with the bell sleeves, I also love the tie-up detail on the front and the additional embroidery on the sleeves. Overall, it’s a flowy and breezy piece that is perfect for a summer lunch out. I would definitely use this top more for a day look, which is exactly how I styled it for this shoot in particular.
