Bel Air

There's nothing quite like a simple, white sundress for the spring time. This one I'm wearing in particular is the perfect mix of casual and classy. And since I was feeling a bit more dressy that day, I decided to glam things up a bit with my favorite charm bracelet from Tiffany's, shimmery metallic earrings from Aldo Accessories, and my Kate Spade bag. Bring it all together and you've got a breezy and fabulous ensemble that's perfect for a chic, sunny afternoon out. Whether it's dressed up or dressed down, you can't go wrong with a little white dress.

What I'm Listening To

1. "Little White Lies" (Moon Boots) Remix - Florrie
Florrie is absolutely precious and Moon Boots makes some of the best remixes. Pretty perfect combination in my opinion.

2. "Habits (Stay High)" Oliver Nelson Remix - Tove Lo
This remix should get as much as airplay as the original song because I am all about this version.

3. "Revolution 909" - Daft Punk
It's Daft Punk. Enough said.

4. "Métele" (Cesare Remix) - Buscabulla
I absolutely love this remix. Make sure to listen to the original of this song as well because it's just as good! Also everything Kitsuné puts together is incredible and I would recommend checking out their playlists on Spotify. You won't be disappointed.

5. "Flicker" - Porter Robinson
I'm half-Japanese, so I can definitely appreciate the bits of Japanese thrown in here. :) But seriously, this song rules. Check it out.

6. "Diver" - AlunaGeorge
Love AlunaGeorge. This song is super chill, as is the rest of this album. The Wilfred Giroux remix to this song is sick too so def give that a listen.

7. "On the Way" (Cesare Remix) - Kilo Kish
Alright, my dearest apologies for putting the same album on here twice. In my defense, it was just too hard to pick which Cesare remix I liked better! So I've put on both. Give em a listen - you'll be glad I did.

8. "Speeding" - Lights
Lights holds a very, very special spot on here. I have been listening to this very talented woman for the past eight years now and it's incredible how she manages to always create such amazing, feel-good music. Every album she puts out is perfection, and you can bet they'll be making their way onto here in the future. This song is off her latest one and it's one of the many, many favorites I have from her. And seeing as she's also a lyrical genius, I figured it would be appropriate to highlight one of my favorite lines from this tune: "The world in the rear view mirror doesn't shake me; I haven't looked back there lately."

Sun Kissed

It was a beautiful spring day, and I was feeling ultra feminine. So naturally, I went straight to my closet and threw together this flirty look. While I love every piece featured in this outfit, I would have to say that my favorite are the nude ankle strap sandals. These shoes are fantastic at making legs look longer, and also serve as a fabulous finishing touch to practically any outfit. I'm a huge fan of ankle strap sandals and hope to get a pair in black soon!

Its been a while since I've been able wear a blouse, skirt, and high heels combo. There's absolutely no way I would wear these specific heels walking to class everyday, as they would get damaged very quickly (I walk over a mile a day and there's lots of hills too!). Because of this, my school wardrobe primarily consists of thick heeled ankle boots that can endure a long walk, a pair of jeans, and a crop top. It was definitely nice finally being able to whip out the lace and florals, dress up to my feminine liking, and wear whatever pair of heels I please. I missed it a lot.

On a completely random note, my boyfriend and I are going to Universal Studios next weekend! Its been years since I last visited there and I'm seriously so excited to go back. We've been watching a lot of The Simpsons to prepare us for it, and plan on throwing in a few Jurassic Park movies as well. I think what I'm most excited for is trying all of the crazy food there - especially The Simpsons-themed ones! Anybody who follows me on Instagram knows that I'm a huge foodie. Apparently you can get a Lard Lad donut there that's exceptionally larger than the average donut, and you can go to Krusty Burger and feast upon some classic, greasy deliciousness. My boyfriend is especially excited for trying the Ribwich and hitting up Moe's Tavern. So with that said, get ready for a lot of pictures!

What I'm Listening To

I love music just as much as I love fashion. I figured that it would be fun idea to put up a new section on here where I show you guys what I'm currently listening to, as well as share some of my own favorite artists. Hope you guys like this new addition and enjoy these songs just as much as I do!

1. "REALiTi" - Grimes
Absolutely obsessed with this song and video. I saw Grimes live two years ago at Coachella and she was perfect.

2. "Colored Emotions" - Night Moves
I've just only recently started listening to these guys, but I'm already obsessed. This song in particular is my favorite.

3. "Give Up" - FKA twigs
Same as with Night Moves, I've only recently started listening to FKA twigs. I absolutely love her sound though, something different but still very catchy.

4. "Years & Years" - Real (Tobtok remix)
All of Tobtok's remixes are incredible, and I recommend checking out the original version of this song too as it's also wonderful.

5. "I Got U" - Duke Dumont, feat. Jax Jones
This song always makes me want to go out on a tropical excursion somewhere, as well as dance the night away.

6. "Bridges" - Broods (ASTR Remix)
I love ASTR and I also love the original version of this song, so naturally this remix was, like, absolutely amazing.

Statement Dress

This dress may look a little bit familiar. It was featured on here back in November as part of a more cozy, LA-fall look, where it was paired with a warm tan sweater and served as a layering piece. Now that the sun is out and spring is in the air, it's back yet again - this time, on its own and serving as the breezy and fabulous shift dress it's originally meant to be. Since the print and color of this piece are quite bold, I opted to wear it as a stand alone garment, and keep everything else simple.  A pair of chunky brown heels and a rose gold watch were all I needed to compliment this dress because, as I always remind myself, less is more. My favorite part about flaunting this piece on its own however is being able to show off the cut-out in the back. I adore backless dresses and the one featured on this dress is simply lovely.

Classics

You can never go wrong with the classics. And by the classics, I mean those timeless and long forgotten pieces in your wardrobe that will truly never go out of style. Yes, we all have them. I was sifting through the massive avalanche that is my closet the other day and while my original intention was to find some random sweater that I wanted to pair with whatever I was wearing at the time, I actually ended up rediscovering a piece that was long abandoned yet still very much on point. It was a denim Levi's button up shirt that I had taken from my mom's closet years ago (one of the many perks of being the same size as my mother) and despite not having been worn for years, it still gleamed in my closet as the hidden gem it was. This was perfect timing too, as the denim on denim, Canadian tux trend has become quite popular this season. My point here is that shopping in one's closet can truly produce fantastic results. And in my case specifically, it was a double win as it helped me rediscover a classic piece that will always hold a handy spot in my wardrobe. The amount of ways in which this denim jacket can be styled are vast, and I look forward to exploring them all this spring and summer.

Off The Shoulder

Ok guys, new favorite top here. What started off as just a routine grocery trip to my local Target turned into me stumbling upon this absolutely gorgeous, spring-perfect blouse. My obsession with white lace thus continues, showing once again that this delicate material can turn the simplest of garments into chic and feminine pieces. What's even better with this one is that it's also off-the-shoulder, another detail that I've always been very fond of. I personally like showing off my shoulders as I think they are some of my strong points (I know, kind of random) so any piece that does that is a winner in my book. Add a fabulous touch of white lace and you don't even have to think about it -it's definitely a must. Expect to see this fabulous piece featured on here quite often.

By the way, my apologies for the lack of photos in this post. My camera chose to spontaneously die on me in the middle of the shoot, aaaand of course I didn't have a back-up supply of batteries on me either. On the plus side however, my boyfriend and I spent the rest of our planned photo shoot time walking around Capitola, enjoying the beautiful weather, and getting some delicious ice cream from Souza's. It was a lovely day. ♡

Lace Trimmed

White lace is simply perfect for the spring time. And it's especially trendy right now seeing as it's currently music festival season. For me, there's just something about white lace that whisks me away to a luxurious vacation by the seaside. Classy and breezy. Casual yet glamorous. A touch of white lace can take a garment from basic to bravo in a flash. And while the blouse featured is already pretty chic on it owns, its white lace detail no doubt kicks it up a notch by adding some fabulous boho flare. It's a very versatile detail as well - whether you're in the deserts of Indio for Coachella or sipping a latte at a seaside cafe in Greece, white lace is always on point. I assembled this outfit with a more bohemian feel in mind, but you can bet this look can be styled in multiple ways. Ditch the hat, switch the denim shorts for sleek, black skinny jeans, the booties for nude ankle strap heels, and throw in a killer pair of black shades and what do you have? Cali-cool to city chic in an instant.

Spring Has Sprung

Flirty one pieces, pops of color, strappy sandals, sun hats, iced coffees, and all-day sunshine - Spring has officially sprung!
It certainly feels like it down here in LA too, with the weather being gorgeous and the streets lined with the petals of blooming flowers. The start of this beautiful season called for a fun and light outfit, and I was so excited to finally go out and flaunt my new romper from Modlook 29. With a fabulous print, bell sleeves, and a breezy fit, this piece is a perfect spring staple.

I'm sure it's evident by now that I'm slightly obsessed with hats, so no surprise here that I've featured yet another one. In my defense however, the weather during this shoot was ultra bright and this handy little piece actually did a great job at keeping me cool and well-shaded. Isn't functional fashion simply the best? My newly acquired leather boots from Shoemint also edged things up a bit, adding some rocker flare to this otherwise feminine look.
