Winter Glow

Hey guys! I hope everyone had an absolutely amazing Christmas. I've been home in Santa Cruz for a few weeks now and it has been wonderful being able to relax, unwind and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends. It has also been so ridiculously cold! Maybe I've been living in LA for too long now, or maybe this month just happens to be a lot colder than usual, but I've been bundling up like crazy every single day for weeks on end. Tights, layers upon layers, faux fur jackets, scarves and an infinite surplus of sweaters have been making up my outfits as of lately. The weather difference between here and LA is ridiculous - I haven't necessarily been able to rock the breezy style that I generally present on here, so it will be quite the transition going back next week and having a complete change of wardrobe.

I've been really into turtlenecks lately, and have accumulated quite an impressive list of tops, dresses, sweaters and bodysuits that have the style. The one I'm wearing here is by Target and is probably one of the coziest tops I own. It can be worn as either a top or an ultra light sweater, and it acts as the perfect layering piece as well. I paired it with my insanely cozy duster cardigan from, yes again, Target and button front skirt from American Apparel.  Everything was finished off with my lovely OTK boots from Public Desire, which are also surprisingly warm and cozy. Looks like bare legs in winter is a possibility after all! As for accessories, I am obsessed with my new Chloé sunglasses* and have been trying pretty hard to not wear them in every outfit I feature on here. Judging from both this and my California Dreaming shoot, I'm not doing so great. :p

Lastly, my apologies for not updating this blog in a while! Its been a pretty busy month (as I'm sure many of you guys can agree with), but now that things have finally settled down, I'm ready to get content back up and running on here. I have to say, its been pretty unsettling not being able to update for a while. I really do enjoy running this blog, as I love posting fashion inspiration whenever I can. I'm so thankful to have this outlet, and I'm even more thankful that there are people out there who read this blog and hopefully gain some inspiration from it themselves. I have so much planned to put up on here, and I can't wait to share it with you all. Stay tuned!

What's Underneath

Few things make me feel more confident than a fabulous pair of lingerie. I recently had the pleasure of participating in the College Fashionista x Undies partnership, and I couldn't have been any more excited as I for one am a huge advocate of wearing under garments that make you feel wonderful. Regardless of whether anyone sees it or not, the fact that it makes you feel fabulous and sexy is what counts! Undies has an amazing selection of cute, affordable bras and underwear, so definitely make sure to check them out.

A trick of mine that I like doing when I do want to show off these pieces is by pairing them with a slouchy, off-the-shoulder sweater. And seeing as we are just now stepping into prime holiday season, what better item to rock? For this look, I matched both their Triangle Bralette in Noir and Iceberg with my favorite shimmery cream sweater. I also threw on a few gold accessories here and there to add that subtle touch of luxe that I always like incorporating in my outfits. The overall look is cozy, glam and perfect for keeping things stylish during the holidays.

A Touch of Gold

When it comes to jewelry, I love to keep things simple and chic. And to me, nothing looks better than a delicate touch of gold + rose gold here and there. These pieces from Azil Boutique are the perfect, everyday accessories to rock: this large bar gold necklace adds a hint of glam to anything you're wearing and this double bar thin cuff in rose gold is just as elegant as it is simple. Wear them on their own like I did, or stack them with other fine jewelry favorites! It's the perfect time to begin glitzing your outfits up for the holidays, and a touch of gold will certainly take you far.

California Dreaming

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I for one did, and definitely made sure to eat to my heart's content. I'm currently back home in Santa Cruz and have been having a lovely time so far. Its been months since I was last home so it's nice to be back for a bit.

This shoot was actually taken a few days ago back when I was still down in LA. (it's currently 52 degrees right now and I can't even imagine wearing this same outfit here!)  For this look, my love for both my home state and '70s fashion have merged together to create a casual yet chic daytime ensemble. Denim, oversized sunglasses, and tan button front skirts have been some of my favorite recent trends, so it only made sense that I bring them together to create this vintage 70's/ boho hybrid. Speaking of which, it's about time I finally got my hands on a button up, faux-suede skirt - I have been seeing these everywhere and have desperately wanted one for ages.

Since it was a bit on the warmer side that day, I threw on my favorite pair of chunky brown heeled sandals. For those chillier days, however, I would recommend a cozy pair of tan OTK boots (click here for some inspo). Pairing denim and tan pieces together is great for when you want to rock a '70s-inspired look. For me, balancing the denim shirt with the rich tan heels, skirt and bag did the trick.

And on a random, final note: I'm so freaking ready for the Christmas season. This is honestly my favorite time of the year and I'm stoked. Let the countdown begin.

Home For The Holidays

Anybody else as excited for the holidays as I am? There are few things better than celebrating the season in comfort, and I for one can't wait to bundle up in my coziest layers while sipping hot chocolate watching my favorite holiday films at home. Aerie has helped me achieve just that, and I'm so excited to have taken part in College Fashionista's partnership with them! Featured is their hi-neck bralette, which I'm absolutely in love with. It's super cozy to lounge around in, but it can also be styled up to wear out and about. Pair it with your softest knit cardigan for ultimate comfort.

Cozy Luxe

I've been really into cozy outfits lately, and this time I wanted to assemble something that was a bit more on the glitzy side. A maxi cardigan with a touch of shimmer, nude ankle strap heels and some lovely gold accessories were able to do just that. The great thing about the cardigan especially is that while it's got that luxe sparkle, it's also incredibly comfortable and warm. Definitely perfect for the holidays. My fuzzy American Apparel crop top is also super soft as well - I love both this top and the sweater version of it!

Cozy in California

Finally - some fall fashion on here! Only a few months late haha, but better late than never. As mentioned in my previous post, LA has finally started bringing in some consistent cooler weather and my wardrobe is slowly beginning to transition along with it. I absolutely love this sweater dress from Target - it fits like a charm and is also embellished with sequins for a pop of that lovely holiday shimmer. It paired perfectly with my over-the-knee Laurel boots from Public Desire - a chic pair of thigh highs that not only look fabulous with just about anything, but actually do a great job at keeping me warm! There really is nothing better than shoes that are just as comfortable as they are chic. I love paring OTK boots with big, cozy sweaters so expect this combination to make its way on here more often.

Gold accessories are another favorite of mine, and it only seemed fitting that I throw some into this ensemble. A rose gold watch from Michael Kors, a bangle from the Limited and a super chic ring from Sophie Harper were the perfect picks, as they instantly add luxe touches to this otherwise cozy outfit. I actually got the ring from my Rocksbox set, and am amazed at how the stylist that put together my box was able to understand my style so well! If you're interested in getting it for yourself, go ahead and use my code "tokyoglitterxoxo" for your first month subscription free!

Lastly, on a completely unrelated note, Grimes released a new album today called Art Angels and it is absolutely amazing. As I'm typing this, I am literally on my third consecutive run of playing the album on repeat. Yes, guys, it's that good. I love Grimes and was already expecting an amazing album from her, but the actual product just blew my expectations out of the water. If you haven't heard it yet, I highly recommend you do.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
